Security Consultant, Creator of the SOC Maturity Model

Rob van Os is a cyber security professional with extensive experience in cyber defense and security operations. Rob has held various roles over the years, including SIEM consultant, security architect, security specialist and is now product owner of the Cyber Defense Center at the Volksbank.

Rob is analytically strong and has both an in-depth knowledge of the theoretical background and practical experience within the SOC. The combination of both allows Rob to support students in both theory and practice. Rob is one of the instructors of the SOC courses.

In recent years, Rob has specialized in the various aspects involved in security operations. As chairman of the inter-bank consultation of SOC and CSIRT teams and with the theoretical frameworks and methodologies he has developed, Rob has a very good idea of what goes on within a SOC.

Rob believes it is important that students get the right theoretical baggage in the course, but also gain relevant hands-on experience and the ability to put it directly into practice in their own SOC.
