Drs. Marcel Feenstra has worked in IT for more than 30 years, in positions ranging from programmer to CTO, and in recent years also as a college professor at The Hague University of Applied Sciences and NOVI, among others. He was also a board member of ISACA NL Chapter for several years. Marcel is currently working on IT textbooks for higher education, commissioned by Boom Hoger Onderwijs.

Marcel takes the teaching profession seriously, but teaches with great enthusiasm and humor. He conducts CISA, CISM and CISSP training courses, among others, and ensures that the sometimes “dry” material comes to life, making it easier for his students to remember.

In recent years, not only the technological possibilities are rapidly increasing (IoT, AI, Cloud…), but also our dependence on that technology. To prevent malicious people from abusing this, well-trained people are indispensable to make and keep our society safe!

In courses that train for a certification level, it is obviously important that participants pass the relevant exam. Equally important, however, is that students actually understand the underlying concepts so that they can apply them in their daily work.

Therefore, Marcel regularly checks whether all students “are able to keep up” and, if necessary, explains the material again. He consciously strives for a pleasant atmosphere during the lessons. In addition, he regularly uses practical examples and anecdotes, making it easier for participants to remember the theory.
